Position Overview
The Outside Sales Manager will lead a high-performing sales team, driving strategic growth, strengthening dealer relationships, and fostering a culture of accountability and development. This role is responsible for achieving sales targets, managing a team of Key Account Managers (KAMs), and enhancing dealer satisfaction to ensure sustainable success.
Key Responsibilities
Team Leadership and Development
- Recruit, onboard, and train Key Account Managers to ensure team readiness and effectiveness.
- Motivate and coach the sales team to meet and exceed performance goals.
- Monitor performance metrics and implement development plans for underperforming team members.
- Foster collaboration within the sales team and across departments.
Sales Growth and Strategy Execution
- Drive territory growth by developing and executing effective sales strategies.
- Achieve and exceed sales and profit goals, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
- Collaborate with Inside Sales and other departments to support legacy account revenue growth.
- Maintain and enforce adherence to sales processes and best practices, including Salesforce usage.
Dealer Relationship Management
- Build and maintain long-term, profitable relationships with Blue Chip dealers.
- Monitor dealer satisfaction through regular feedback and scorecards, addressing issues promptly.
- Oversee dealer onboarding and engagement to drive participation in events and initiatives.
- Provide hands-on support and strategic guidance for dealer inventory and event planning.
Operational Excellence
- Track team and dealer performance using Salesforce and other tools, ensuring data accuracy.
- Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and align territory strategies.
- Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational protocols.
- Act as a liaison between the sales team and internal departments to address challenges efficiently.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in sales.
- 5+ years of sales experience, including 3–5 years in sales management.
- Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
- Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to lead and manage a remote team with 70% travel, including overnight stays.
Physical and Work Conditions
- Frequent travel to dealership facilities, with exposure to various indoor and outdoor conditions.
- Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work extended hours when required.
- Regular operation of motor vehicles and occasional work from a home office.
