Position Overview

The Outside Sales Manager will lead a high-performing sales team, driving strategic growth, strengthening dealer relationships, and fostering a culture of accountability and development. This role is responsible for achieving sales targets, managing a team of Key Account Managers (KAMs), and enhancing dealer satisfaction to ensure sustainable success.


Key Responsibilities

Team Leadership and Development

  • Recruit, onboard, and train Key Account Managers to ensure team readiness and effectiveness.
  • Motivate and coach the sales team to meet and exceed performance goals.
  • Monitor performance metrics and implement development plans for underperforming team members.
  • Foster collaboration within the sales team and across departments.

Sales Growth and Strategy Execution

  • Drive territory growth by developing and executing effective sales strategies.
  • Achieve and exceed sales and profit goals, ensuring alignment with company objectives.
  • Collaborate with Inside Sales and other departments to support legacy account revenue growth.
  • Maintain and enforce adherence to sales processes and best practices, including Salesforce usage.

Dealer Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain long-term, profitable relationships with Blue Chip dealers.
  • Monitor dealer satisfaction through regular feedback and scorecards, addressing issues promptly.
  • Oversee dealer onboarding and engagement to drive participation in events and initiatives.
  • Provide hands-on support and strategic guidance for dealer inventory and event planning.

Operational Excellence

  • Track team and dealer performance using Salesforce and other tools, ensuring data accuracy.
  • Conduct market analysis to identify growth opportunities and align territory strategies.
  • Ensure adherence to company policies, safety standards, and operational protocols.
  • Act as a liaison between the sales team and internal departments to address challenges efficiently.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred or equivalent experience in sales.
  • 5+ years of sales experience, including 3–5 years in sales management.
  • Proficiency in Salesforce CRM and Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Strong analytical, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to lead and manage a remote team with 70% travel, including overnight stays.

Physical and Work Conditions

  • Frequent travel to dealership facilities, with exposure to various indoor and outdoor conditions.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds and work extended hours when required.
  • Regular operation of motor vehicles and occasional work from a home office.
